01Introduction
Budapest has both rock listening bars and venues that book live guitar music. Start with the kind of evening you want: Liquid Rock and Blast Beat Bar focus on recorded music, while Dürer Kert, A38, Barba Negra and the other concert rooms require a look at the bill.
The venues are spread across Pest, Buda and Csepel. District VII has rock options, including ROBOT and BARhole Music. Further afield, S8, RIFF and Supersonic provide additional underground concert choices.
This guide was checked against venue publications and dated concert announcements on 28 September 2026. A mixed venue may have rock one night and something quite different the next. Follow the programme links below, and check event details again before travelling.

Liquid Rock

Instant-Fogas is a multi-room nightlife complex, with ROBOT providing its rock and metal programme. Both use the same Akácfa utca address. Choose a ROBOT event if rock is the reason for your visit; the wider complex also hosts other kinds of club night.
ROBOT is the rock and metal room within Instant-Fogas. Its own listings distinguish concerts and rock parties from the other programmes in the complex.

Blast Beat Bar

Wigwam Rock Club / Club 202

Wigwam later operated as Club 202 on Fehérvári út. Concert activity ended in 2016, according to contemporary reporting that checked with its management. It is retained here as a former rock venue.

The original Tilos az Á was an alternative meeting place on Mikszáth Kálmán tér in the early 1990s and closed in 1995. Later uses of the name should be distinguished from that original club.

The old Ajtósi Dürer sor site belongs to Dürer Kert’s history. The continuing venue is now at Öböl utca 1; its fifth anniversary in Újbuda was announced for June 2026.
