Chaff

Chaff is a bar in the Marolles with an alternative concert programme that includes punk and indie music. Larsen’s March 2026 report on Brussels venues identifies it as an active place for punk concerts. More recent primary evidence comes from Matching Outfits and their booking agency, which list the band’s September Brussels appearance at Le Chaff. Together, those sources establish a continuing concert programme without relying on the bar’s older restaurant listings.

Use the official social page for the next announcement and check the date before setting out. The address is Place du Jeu de Balle 21–22, as listed by the bar’s supplier and the artist’s event page. For a visitor, the distinction that matters is between stopping at the bar and choosing a concert: follow the lineup rather than assuming a particular genre on every evening.

Magasin 4

La Mule’s calendar extends beyond one musical style. The municipal MUZIK1030 programme also lists an October 2026 performance here. Choose a specific bill if guitars are the purpose of your trip, and use the official brewery page for the address. The official calendar identifies the room for each event, including the main hall, AB Club and AB Salon. The Warning and Meltheads are among the names on the programme checked for this guide. Botanique

Botanique presents rock and metal alongside a broader concert and arts programme. Its current listings identify the room as well as the artist. The September 2026 programme includes Unprocessed, Of Virtue and Daedric at Museum, and Little Barrie with Wilderlust at Rotonde. These are examples of the range available at one address, not a suggestion that every Botanique event has the same musical focus.

Read the room name when booking and again before travelling. The website also lists exhibitions, so a general opening notice may refer to another part of the cultural centre. Recyclart is an arts centre whose music programme includes noise, punk and experimental work. The September 2026 Exheat event brought together Deli Girls, Truck Lips, Le Kaiju and Djabaldjass. Recyclart’s own description connected that bill with noise, metal, queercore, punk and experimental music. It is a useful example of the overlap between these scenes, while the wider agenda also contains club events and other cultural activities.

The venue is on Rue de Manchester in Molenbeek. Check the full event page for the lineup and arrangements; a club night and a concert can offer quite different experiences here. The official site separates the arts centre, workshops and bar-restaurant. Use the music agenda to choose your evening rather than assuming the restaurant’s activity means a performance is taking place.

Atelier 210

Atelier 210 is a multidisciplinary venue in Etterbeek with selected pop and rock concerts. The 2026–27 programme combines music with theatre, dance and other events. Cirque Royal

Cirque Royal hosts touring bands and other performances, including rock concerts. Its official programme lists Death Cab for Cutie on 30 September 2026 among a wider range of music and stage events. It is another option when your visit is built around a particular band. The practical-information page distinguishes the advertised performance time from door opening and notes that arrangements can change with support acts or afternoon shows. It also explains accessible seating and asks visitors to contact the venue for those tickets. Read that information for your chosen performance. Begin with the type of music you want to hear. For punk, hardcore or metal, Magasin 4 publishes genre labels for individual bills. For a smaller setting, look at Super Fourchette, Chaff and La Mule. For blues and a jam-session format, use Café Bizon’s programme. These are starting points based on the venues and listings above, not a promise that any particular style will be available on every date.

The concert address matters as much as the organisation’s name. AB collaborates on shows at Super Fourchette, while Magasin 4 has moved from its earlier locations. Use the address on the current event page. If you save an old listing, compare it with the venue’s current information before using it for directions. A promoter’s name is not always the name of the room where the concert happens.

Times, tickets and rooms

At AB, exact timings are published on the concert page on the day of the show. Cirque Royal explains that its advertised show time and door opening are different, with adjustments possible. At Botanique, the room name is part of the listing. Check all three details where relevant: when to arrive, which room to enter and what your ticket covers. Access and facilities

Magasin 4 says its venue is accessible to people with reduced mobility, provides earplugs and has no lockers or cloakroom. Atelier 210 describes three unavoidable flights of stairs to its bar and performance room. These are materially different access arrangements. Read the relevant venue page before booking, and contact the venue if you need information about a particular route, seat or facility.

Rock Classic

Former address: Rue du Marché au Charbon 55, 1000 Bruxelles

Rock Classic closed in January 2026. Its regular promoter, Soirées Cerises, announced the permanent closure on 4 January and said the bar had closed two days earlier. The old website still displays opening hours, which should not be used to plan a visit. This former concert bar is included here only as history.

Les Ateliers Claus

Former address: Rue Crickx 15, 1060 Saint-Gilles

Les Ateliers Claus ended its regular concert activity in spring 2026. The venue’s own listing calls the Eugene Chadbourne and L event on 17 April its closing concert. Its website and later artistic activity remain visible, but that does not establish a continuing public concert schedule at Rue Crickx. It is listed as a former concert venue, not as an option for tonight.

Le Lac

Former address: Rue de Witte de Haelen 36, 1000 Bruxelles

Le Lac’s own website says the project ended on 1 May 2025. It describes an independent space for artists to create and present work, and retains its former Rue de Witte de Haelen address. The remaining archive explains the project but is not a current events invitation. Do not include this address in a route of operating bars or concert venues.

Botanique also books metal acts within its wider calendar. The individual lineup remains the deciding factor, especially at venues that programme several genres.

Are all these places dedicated rock bars?

No. The guide distinguishes listening bars, brewery bars, smaller concert spaces and halls with broader programmes. Recyclart and Atelier 210 also present other art forms; La Madeleine and Cirque Royal book a range of performances. Their inclusion means there is a verified musical reason to check the programme, not that rock plays there every evening.

Is Rock Classic still open?

No. Its promoter announced its permanent closure in January 2026. The old official website’s opening hours are stale. Rock Classic, Les Ateliers Claus and Le Lac are kept in the history section so their names remain distinguishable from the current recommendations.
