Athens has dedicated metal bars, punk and rock concert rooms, and larger venues whose programmes cross several genres. This guide separates those choices from broader cultural spaces and closed clubs.
Start with the event programme: AN Club and BUMS cover rock and metal gigs around Exarcheia, Death Disco covers the darker alternative scene in Psyrri, and Gazi and the Pireos corridor have several concert venues. Dark Sun adds a western Athens option in Peristeri.

Six d.o.g.s
Six d.o.g.s closed in December 2024; its former Avramiotou premises reopened as Klakaz in April 2026. Closure / history source.

Second Skin is a former goth and industrial club; a 2025 interview with its founder dates its closure to 2019. Closure / history source.
Older guides also mention Rezin, Closer, Legacy Rock Area and Intrepid Fox. We could not verify their current operation strongly enough for this list. That is not a claim that they have closed. Decadence, Wizard, Bat City, Rodeo and the old Alcatraz rock venue also remain unresolved; old listings should not be treated as current directions.

Tickets and opening times
Check the specific event page for the date, venue address, doors, start time, age restrictions and ticket terms. This guide does not assume a standard admission price or weekly opening schedule.
Getting there and getting home
Plan your return journey for your actual date and time using the transport operator's current information. Ask the venue about step-free access or seating if you need either; a concert listing alone does not confirm them.
Addresses that need particular care
Bad Tooth has moved to Gazi. Piraeus Club Academy is at number 105, while Floyd is at number 117. Six d.o.g.s is a historical entry. Check the name and address together before booking or travelling.
