ABOUT

The Bag O'Nails was a basement club at 9 Kingly Street in Soho, open as a music club from 1965 to 1968 and used by musicians late at night. It reopened under its old name from 2013 to 2018. The building now houses The Little Violet Door bar.

SIGNIFICANCE

The Jimi Hendrix Experience played there on 25 November 1966, two months after Hendrix arrived in England. Paul McCartney met Linda Eastman there on 15 May 1967; plaques at the door record both dates.

The Bag O'Nails TODAY

9 Kingly Street now houses The Little Violet Door bar; the club was revived as the Bag O'Nails from 2013 to 2018 and then became The Court members' club.
