ABOUT

UFO was an all-night psychedelic club that ran on Friday nights from December 1966 in the Blarney Club, an Irish dance hall in a basement below the Berkeley Cinema on Tottenham Court Road. John 'Hoppy' Hopkins and Joe Boyd started it; it moved to the Roundhouse in summer 1967 and closed by October. The Tottenham Court Road block was demolished in the mid-1970s.

Pink Floyd were the house band when UFO opened on 23 December 1966. They played there on 13 January 1967, when Peter Whitehead filmed them, and on 27 January 1967 Granada TV filmed them there for 'Scene Special'.
