Originally art space "Glass House," professionalized into Glasslands Gallery by Brooke Baxter and Rolyn Hu in 2006, later run by PopGun Presents. Known for whimsical cloudy art installations on ceiling.
MGMT, TV on the Radio, Bon Iver, FKA Twigs, Grimes all played defining shows. Closed New Year's Eve 2014 with "Lastlands" show. Building leased to Vice Media for headquarters, sparking resentment as it displaced the culture Vice purported to cover. Ironic twist: Vice filed bankruptcy 2023, vacated building. As of 2025, building faces foreclosure—former site of DIY glory now hollowed corporate shell.
