Grand Central Pub

ABOUT

Grand Central is a long-running rock and metal pub beside Manchester Oxford Road station. Jason from the venue confirmed in September 2026 that entry is free and it supports grassroots and emerging bands with live rock, metal and hardcore every week.

SIGNIFICANCE

A gathering place for Manchester's heavy-music community, including fans heading to Jilly's Rockworld. Grand Central hosted Manchester's Metal 2 the Masses final on 4 July 2013; Massive Wagons and Doomsday Outlaw played on 12 December that year. In 2021, more than 900 people signed a petition to save the pub before new operators announced its reopening.
